Utilizes current and emerging assistive technologies that enable students to participate in high-quality communication interactions and achieve their educational goals
1. All of the classrooms at my elementary school have a Promethean board, and I personally love all of the features it has to offer. My inquiry for internship this semester focused on students’ learning style preferences. Many of my students really enjoy getting to come up to interact with the Promethean board, so I do my best with every lesson to incorporate this. In social studies, I have had multiple geography lessons where students came up to the board and clicked on an interactive map of the United States, divided up into five regions. This allowed them to see the regions’ boundaries and which states are in each. The students loved this part of the lesson just because they got the opportunity to come up to the board.
2. This semester, my CT decided to invest in a class set of tablets. Because I am more tech-savvy than she, I spent countless hours at home working with these tablets to set them up for the students, adding educational apps such as Starfall and bookmarking webpages such as Nearpod to use with the students. The plan is for me to use these tablets during final internship for lessons.
